And in the same field, it beholds, every hour, a picture which was never seen before,
and which shall never be seen again. - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Mt Tom

I hiked up Mt Tom in central Mass on a humid summer day and saw an incredible rain storm on the plain.

Belle Island Nature Reserve

Belle Island is a small marsh north of Logan Airport. Despite the constant roars of planes overhead, here one finds a gentle, private tranquility, shared only by the occasional fishermen, the marsh birds, and their quiet admirers.
Sometimes after a long flight back to Boston, I'd stop here briefly before heading for home. It always made me feel better.

Fenway, Boston

The Emerald Necklace in early summer, everything is lush and full of life!
Always satisfying for an afternoon stroll.

Ogunquit

It wasn't until the very end of my stay in New England did I discover this Maine beach with friends. With the Cape becoming increasingly over-run, I'd rather spent a quieter summer weekend here.

The Minute Man Bike Path

I have always tried to find a few Sunday hours for the Minute Man Path. It is beautiful all year round. The foot path was paved over old railroad tracks, the reminent of which can still be seen at Bedford. Walking, running, roller-blading or cycling, there are many ways to find a lungful of fresh air and a heartful of joy.
